A talk on the work of the HALO Trust by distinguished soldier and noted historian, James Gowan, chief executive of the trust which is based in Thornhill.
Founded in 1988 with the purpose of clearing unmarked minefields in Afghanistan left behind after Soviet withdrawal, the trust has since grown to employ 7,500 people in 19 countries working to remove munitions and weapons left behind after conflicts.
Free entry, by ticket only as space is limited. Donations on the night will go to the HALO Trust.
