Once again Greyfriars church was delighted to host a well-attended service celebrating Sea Sunday. This is a world-wide event, and we in Kirkcudbright are familiar with the sight of fishing vessels and their crews.
The church will be open to visitors from 9th July - 31st August (except Sundays during that period). The town is noticeably filling up with visitors, attracted no doubt by the opening of the splendid new Kirkcudbright Galleries, amongst many other attractions.
Notice is given that the Diocese of Glasgow and Galloway of the Scottish Episcopal Church is making preparation for the removal and re-interment of cremated remains from the former Holy Cross Episcopal Church, Knightswood to a new memorial garden at St. Bride’s Episcopal Church, Hyndland.
On behalf of the whole church, Rev'd Stephen Hazlett and Gwen Shaw, visited Grant Oliver to present him with a gift of a decanter with 4 glasses in grateful thanks for 30 years of faithful service as church treasurer (and many other unnamed roles and duties!).
