Kirkcudbright Churches Together, Report for Vestry meeting Thursday 16th January.
I have just a few things to report since the last vestry meeting.
Just 11 of us turned up on a miserable Saturday afternoon, but we were made most welcome inside out of the rain to the venues we sang at. These were Tesco, Rhubarb, Co-op and finally the Masonic. This was followed by coffee and mince pies served in Greyfriars House, which was most welcome. We raised £66.66 which was donated to Mary’s Meals.
Carol Service Parish Church.
This service was very well attended by all churches. The service included Carols, Readings, Choir, and Solo performances. Many went back to the church hall to enjoy mulled wine, mince pies, shortbread and friendly conversation.
Christmas Day lunch.
The lunch was attended by about 50 people who thoroughly enjoyed their lunch, the company and conversation. The afternoon ended with the singing of Carol’s. I do not have the final amount donated which is also going to Mary’s Meals.
Stewartry Food Bank.
A busy December was followed by the making up of 36 Christmas Food parcels which were delivered by Social Services and SCVS to families and single people living in the Stewartry.
